WHAT WE'RE WORKING ON NOW:     We are getting through our final week of the school year!
The students have broken up into reading groups to silent-read a novel.   Each group is reading a different book.   At the end of the period, a student in every  group will present to the class,  summarizing  what they've read.  A different student will do this each day.   The presentations have been excellent and clearly show a growth in confidence and reading skills.

WHAT IS UPCOMING:     Summer vacation is almost here.   Please make sure your children read during their break.   I know they can find something they like on the summer reading list at the school website.   Magazines are also fun, and once  a week they should pick out 5 words they don't know from the dictionary and write the definitions.   Enlarging vocabulary supports academic success.

OTHER THINGS:   It has been my honor to help your dear children grow their intellects this year.   Every single one of them is a gem, and  I will miss each one.   Finally, my gratitude to you for all your hard work and perseverance as parents.
